Our team was assigned to design a food related wooden product to be sold at the Polygon Gallery. We reached out to the local restaurant, The Acorn, for guidance and to design something that would additionally work in their space.

Beau cultivates a circular connection between your table, dishes, and banter.

For sale at the Polygon Gallery from March 19th-27th 2026 - https://thepolygon.ca/event/design-make-pop-up-2026/

Our studio team, Babble, aimed to design something that brings people into conversation.

A great theme of The Acorn is no-waste; the complete use of every ingredient. On a trip to a lumber mill in Sechelt, I noticed the grooves of the woodworm larvae left on tree logs, one of the few species able to consume wood.

This with the Acorn’s need for table space and plate elevation, and the Polygon’s client interest in ceramic displays, we came to a theme of elongated shapes that weave and connect dishes into conversations.

Made with Walnut Veneer, finished with Odie’s Oil.
