About Estefania
3rd Year Industrial Design |
Emily Carr University of Art + Design
I design products and systems, pushing the boundaries of what we have yet to know.
I think about how as users, we are constantly adapting to fit in our innoavtive world as it changes. Like how John F. Pile notes, “our minds and senses are equipment for dealing with our natural environment.” A tree stump exists just to survive, but a chair exists with the intention of being sat on.
In my current role as a student I venture in interdisciplinary design, searching solutions across industries to bring a unique perspective into the making of a product. For example, designing wood products has informed my textile product designs, as textiles has informed my work in biomaterial development + applications. I seek knowledge, actively learning from my peers and the projects I engage in.
I centre myself in precision and quality production. I carry a range of experience in collaborative work, the development of concepts, market research, moodboarding, model making, visuals, prototyping, CAD programs, and the physical process of making my designs.
